Liverpool CEO: Klopp will have final say on adding ex-players

Former Germany midfielder Dietmar Hamann, a Liverpool player between 1999-2006, has also had his name mentioned.

Klopp, a man who appreciates Liverpool’s rich history, will have the final say.

“Those decisions will be Jurgen’s but the near future is about what we have here and what Jurgen has to work with and that is for him to assess,” said Ayre.

“There were some changes (in the coaching staff) yesterday but it is about moving forward and there are no plans at this stage other than for Jurgen to get together with his staff and take it from there.”

The appointment of Klopp, rated as one of the best coaches in Europe, is a major coup for owners Fenway Sports Group who moved quickly after sacking Brendan Rodgers on Sunday.

Ayre believes the 48-year-old is a perfect fit.

“When we started the search it was important we found someone who we believed could bring success to the club, who could take on the size, the might and the ambition of the club,” he added.

“Jurgen ticks those boxes.

Liverpool chief executive Ian Ayre will let new manager Jurgen Klopp decide whether to bring in any former Reds players to help bridge a gap to the club’s gloried past.

The German’s arrival on Merseyside saw former midfielder Gary McAllister removed from his coaching position – which he had only held since the summer – on Thursday and moved into an ambassadorial role.

There has already been speculation about whether Jamie Carragher could be persuaded to ditch his television commitments to return to Anfield, or whether ex-captain Steven Gerrard would be enticed back from LA Galaxy. When you spend time together, there is a connection and an understanding of the culture of this club.

“It was good to feel that from Jurgen that he understood the size and ambition of the club.”

Jupp Heynckes

He began his footballing career with the Borussia Mnchengladbach squad, called Borussia for short. Before winning the UEFA cup, Borussia became the first German team to play in a UEFA cup final in 1973. in the Champions League final. During his career there, he won four championships, one national cup, and one UEFA cup (the Europe-wide club championship). He stayed with Borussia for the remainder of his career as a football player, until 1978. After a successful career as a football player, Heynckes went on to become one of the most skilled managers in the Bundesliga (German Football League).

His Early Career

Starting in 2011, Heynckes returned to Bayern Munich for his third tenure as manager of the Bundesliga stars. Additionally, Heynckes was a part of the West German national team, which won a European championship and a World Cup during his tenure.

Ups and Downs

Heynckes as a Manager

At the relatively young age of 33, Heynckes left the football field and began his managerial career. He managed his home team, Borussia Mnchengladbach, for eight years, until 1987. During the 2011-2012 season, Bayern Munich had a string of second place finishes, narrowly losing to England’s Chelsea F.C. Although it could be argued that Heynckes was a better player than a manager, his successes will be enough to secure his place in the history of German football.

. Heynckes’ Legacy

Among Heynckes’ golden moments as manager were the 1989 and 1990 German championship wins for Bayern Munich, and the 1998 Champions League success for Spain’s Real Madrid, who had not had a Champions League win for 32 years. That game was particularly disappointing for Bayern fans, since the team lost as the result of a 4-3 penalty shootout at the end of a tied game. At the time of this writing, the club led the Bundesliga by 9 points and had advanced to the Champions League round of 16 at the top of their group. During his second stint at Mnchengladbach, the team was in its heyday, and as the top scorer in the Bundesliga during 1974 and 1975, Heynckes was in no small part responsible for the team’s success. As a young manager, Heynckes did not lead Borussia to the same level of success the team enjoyed when he was on the field, but the experience he gained there led to a series of successful and not so successful management posts around Europe. At the time that Heynckes joined the team in 1964, Borussia was a second division team, meaning that they competed in a league below the First Bundesliga. His tendency to become red in the face turning tense moments on the sidelines earned him the nickname “Osram,” after a German manufacturer of lighting.

The Mnchengladbach Golden Years

Ending with Bayern Munich

During the 2012-2013 season, which was to be Heynckes’ final season as a football manager, Bayern Munich were off to a good start. That year, Heynckes’ team also yielded the Bundesliga championship to Borussia Dortmund.

After a brief period with another team, Hannover 96, Heynckes went back to Mnchengladbach. In addition to these successes, there were some decidedly low points in Heynckes’ managerial career, including early terminations from German teams Bayern Munich and Schalke 04.

Heynckes played as a striker which means he played at the front of the field and was responsible for scoring goals. The year after Heunckes joined, Borussia managed to make their way into the first division where they enjoyed some success.

Jupp Heynckes, born in 1945 in Mnchengladbach, Germany, was an extremely influential figure in the world of German Football Association

Chelsea F.C.’s Need for Stadium Sponsor Proves It Fumbled Samsung Deal

Last year the club lost 66 million.

Chelsea CEO Ron Gourlay, a former Umbro marketing director, said he needed a stadium sponsor to “create new value and new opportunities that keeps us competitive”. The move validates an argument BNET made in July: that Chelsea has drastically undervalued its current partnership with Samsung and is losing money because of it.

Chelsea is under considerable pressure to bring on board more sponsors. The club lost 448.7 million in the five years following that. In terms of pricing for its lead shirt spot, Chelsea sits at 6th place in BNET’s Global Football Sponsorship Deal League (table below), earning just 12.5 million a year (37.5 million over three years) with Samsung. All Rights Reserved. Owner Roman Abramovich invested about 700 million into Chelsea since 2003. and Manchester United get about 20 million a year with Standard Chartered and Aon, respectively. The price is between 100 million and 150 million for a period of 10 years. The Stamford Bridge deal will be most closely watched by Liverpool, who intend to build a new stadium in the city’s Stanley Park area to replace their current home, Anfield. are seeking a sponsor for the club’s stadium, Stamford Bridge. That’s a tacit admission that Chelsea has so far not been competitive. Similarly, while Arsenal got a massive 100 million deal with airline Emirates for their lead sponsor slot, which included naming rights to the Gunners’ new stadium, that works out to only 6.7 million over the 15-year term of the pact — shockingly underpriced for a brand as big as Arsenal.. Any deal Chelsea cut for Stamford bridge will set a benchmark for negotiations on Merseyside.BNET’s Global Football Sponsorship Deal League:

Referring to tottenham hotspurs fc what does yoids stand for?

. The fans of football went to watch Tottenham and so began the association with Spurs and the Jewish community.

Though the 70’s and 80’s Arsenal and Chelsea fans would antagonise Spurs fans by calling them Yids, Jews, making hissing noises (to simulate the sound of a nazi germany gas chamber where millions were killed) and general directing hostility towards the Jewish/spurs contingence.

The F.A and a bunch of do gooders now think that after doing fucckk all for the last 50 years to combat the hostility towards Tottenham fans that Spurs should no long chant “Yid army” or say the word “Yid” because of its original derogatory terminally…which is crap….when we have reestablished the meaning of the word in the same way a black person from NY or wherever is referred to by his peers as the n rod with an A at the end rather than the other n word ending in er.

Yids is a slang term for a Jewish person.

Now the term Yid is defined as a Spurs supporter, jewish or not, because at the end of the day no matter our creed, colour, race, religion or sexual orientation were are all Spurs fans.

During WW2 millions of Jews were displace from Germany and Poland, many settled in Haringey in North London hence why there is a large Jewish community there.

As time went on (80s’-90) Spurs fans embraced the identity of begin “Yid” the concept that no matter what your background you were a Spurs fan, in other words call on fan a unpleasant name you call all of us it as we stand together, united

Chelsea win, City lose on contrasting day for favourites | Reuters

You need to score to win.. We were too rushed in the second half but when you go two goals down you play like that.”

Cazorla then saw red for a late challenge on his Spain team mate Cesc Fabregas in the 79th minute.

ANGRY ARSENE

City, playing in the day’s late game, had a chance to maintain their 11-point lead over the champions, but West Ham had other ideas and ended City’s run of five straight wins since the start of the season with their shock win.

DESERVED IT

Any dreams Arsenal may have had of winning at Chelsea for the first time for four years were ended when Kurt Zouma, 20, who replaced dropped 34-year-old skipper John Terry, headed Chelsea ahead after 53 minutes with his first goal for the club.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger was angry about how Dean handled matters.

LONDON Champions Chelsea ended their slump with a win over Arsenal while seemingly invincible Manchester City lost their 100 per cent record to West Ham United on a day of contrasting fortunes for the Premier League title favourites on Saturday.

In the day’s other games Leicester, who were second at the start of the day, slipped back to third after drawing 2-2 at Stoke City although they preserved their unbeaten record after trailing 2-0 at one stage.

($1 = 0.6437 pounds)

Chelsea halted their nosedive down the table when they beat Arsenal in an earlier match that centered on an incident in the first half when Chelsea striker Diego Costa raised his hands to Arsenal defender Laurent Koscielny.

West Ham Coach Slaven Bilic told the BBC: “There will be ups and downs here at West Ham — this result is a major surprise and nine points from the first three away games sounds like a dream, not a plan. He pushes him down, he hits him in the face. But theres nothing wrong with a dream.”

The Hammers, who have now won at Arsenal, Liverpool and City in their opening six matches, became the first team to score in the league against City this season when Victor Moses fired in a 20-metre drive after six minutes and they doubled their lead when Diafra Sakho scrambled home after 31 minutes.

Referee Mike Dean allowed Costa to stay on the field, but Gabriel went for kicking out at Costa a minute later.

Eden Hazard then scored his first of the season to make it 2-0 in stoppage time.

Chelsea, who had won one of their opening five league matches, beat Arsenal 2-0 at Stamford Bridge in a feisty London derby that saw Arsenal finish with nine men after Gabriel and Santi Cazorla were sent off.

City still top the table with 15 points, with West Ham and Leicester City on 12, and Manchester United and Arsenal on 10. Chelsea are 13th with seven.

It also ended a City club record run of 11 straight league wins that started with a victory over West Ham last April.

City, who were beaten 2-1 at home by Juventus in the Champions League on Tuesday, hit back just before halftime when Kevin de Bruyne, who joined City for 55 million pounds ($85.44 million) from Wolfsburg last month, scored his first goal for the club on his first start.

Although City laid siege to the West Ham goal for almost the entire second half and had over 27 goal attempts, West Ham survived for their first away win at City since April 2003.

West Bromwich Albion beat Aston Villa 1-0, Bournemouth beat Sunderland 2-0, Watford beat Newcastle United 2-1 and Swansea drew 0-0 with Everton.

“Why does Diego Costa stay on the pitch and Gabriel is sent off? He will do the same next week and its always the same, he is always provoking.”

West Ham won 2-1 at the Etihad to become the first team not only to beat City in the league but also to score against them this season and have now won at Arsenal, Liverpool and City in their first six matches.

Bilic told Sky Sports: “We deserved it for the way we played in the first half and the way we were fighting in the second half, but this was a different game to the ones at the Emirates or Anfield. I do not understand Mike Deans decision at all,” Wenger said. (Editing by Alan Baldwin)

“I think its unacceptable what (Costa) does to Koscielny. This was much harder.”

City boss Manuel Pellegrini, whose team lost for the second time at home in five days, said, “This is football. We had so many attempts but did not score.

“We let in two easy goals and we must be more concentrated

“In Germany the situation is similar to the situation in France. Visit Goal.com, and follow them on Twitter and Facebook.

But irrespective of that result, Watzke does not think his club would have been able to challenge Bayern’s dominance over the course of a campaign.

“That loss [on Sunday]hurts and I just hate it to lose a game.We will learn from that defeat. There is one strong team -in Germany Bayern Munich, in France PSG -with an unbelievable economic power. It is not possible for us to catch up with Bayern Munich.”

“To be honest, I still feel like s***,” he added.”I didn’t expect that we wouldlose in such a bad way.We all know that Bayern Munichhas the best resources in Germany but it is possible to beat Bayern Munichin 90 minutes

Recommended Midfield Players in Championship Manager 01/02

The player has very good crossing and creativity ratings. A defense midfielder who can play either in the center, or on the right side if required. These are a few great midfield players that you should add to your team.

Ainsworth

Ainsworth plays for Wimbledon, and has a transfer value of 675 k. Patsatzoglou has top ratings for stamina and technique, and is a very good team player. In addition, Blackpool’s Wellens, Tottenham’s Davies, PSV’s Robben and West Ham’s Cole are a few others that are worth noting.

. Djordjevic

Gallardo

The midfield can include most of the players in a soccer team. In addition, Ainsworth is an outstanding team player, has great balance and is also very fit. If you’re searching for a very quick sprinter, then Ainsworth could be an ideal transfer with a pace rating of 18. Gallardo has plenty of pace, and is a great playmaker for any team.

These are a few great midfield players that you should add to your team. With a very good long-shot rating Djordjevic can also score lots of goals from midfield. Even if not included in your first team, Selakovic is a great player to have as a substitute.

Selakovic

Djordjevic plays for Olympiakos, and is great winger who can play on the left side of midfield. As Selakovic can also be played as a forward, he will score lots of goals from midfield as well. Gallardo is a very flexible attacking midfield player that you can play in the center, left or right side of midfield. As such, in Championship Manager you will certainly need to have a good number of midfielders in your squad, especially if you select formations with five players in midfield. At 22 you can expect that Patsatzoglou’s ratings will also increase a bit as well. In addition to this, Patsatzoglou has good flair and set piece ratings. Ainsworth is not the best passer of the ball, but is still a great midfield player.

This is a midfield player who can play in defense as well as midfield. Selakovic has excellent stamina, and the player’s passing, creativity set piece and team play ratings are all at 15 or 16. Given that the player is valued at 550 k, this is one midfielder that most higher division clubs can add to their teams.

Patsatzoglou

A great midfield player who can play in the center of midfield, on the right-wing or further forward. The player has a 550 k transfer value, but that should be more like 5.5 million.

Monaco’s Gallardo is a world-class midfield player. Alternatively, you can also play Djordjevic in the center; but the best position is probably on the wing. Gallardo has fantastic flair and technique, and has very good passing and creativity ratings. They can play further forward, just ahead of the defenders or on the wings. Valued at a relatively modest 3.8 million, this is one player that you should consider adding to your team if you can meet the transfer. Djordjevic has great pace and flair. Selakovic has a 425,000 transfer value, but despite this has some excellent ratings. However, Ainsworth should really be valued at 6.75 million
