History of Boxing

The result of the match saw James J. He described his unconventional and distinctive style of fighting as ‘float like a butterfly, sting like a bee’.

Mike Tyson (1985-2005): As a boxer, there was no question that Tyson makes an important part of this list. The code of these rules was penned down in 1865 by a Welshman called John Graham Chambers, who was an all-star athlete and sportsman excelling in boxing, cycling, wrestling, rowing and billiards.

The new generation of boxers are also an energetic and spectacular breed.

Daniel Mendoza was a Jewish fighter and so was often referred to as ‘the Jew’.

A lot of fights began to be arranged during this time leading to a lot of new pugilists rising to popularity. Corbett (“Gentleman Jim” Corbett). Ali was stripped of boxing title and license, after which he did not make a ring appearance for four years. The ‘Marquess of Queensberry Rules’ was a set of 12 rules which called for the mandatory use of gloves during the boxing match, a standard size of the boxing ring, dividing a boxing match into different rounds of three minutes each and a count of 10 seconds for a complete and an undisputed victory. Fighters from Cuba, Russia, India and USA have shown some serious talent in the recent times, and the world has witnessed several women’s boxing tournaments as well. As a result, owing to the development of boxing as a white-collared sport in England and the valuable contribution of their very own Jack Broughton to it, boxing also re-emerged, alongside many other things, with force and double the energy. When one of the boxers was too tired and injured to fight any further, the other one was declared the winner. The modern professional boxing scene saw many legends showcasing their talent since 1920s.

The ‘Gillette Friday Night Fights’ program that aired live boxing matches from around the globe on NBC and later on the ABC network, was a rage.

In the 1950s, the world had started finding its feet economically after World War II. Because it essentially involves fist fighting, the practice may have existed, not as a sport, but as a form of violent encounters, even during the prehistoric times.

The 1867 draft of the ‘Marquess of Queensberry Rules’ paved the way for a number of amateur competitions at popular venues throughout London.

In countries like Cuba, North Korea and Norway, professional boxing still remains banned.

Soon enough, boxing grew to international heights and ‘professional boxing’ emerged in many countries. Players were prohibited from wearing boots with springs or even from hugging the opponent or wrestling with him. Several legendary fights of all time are still reminisced upon by ardent fans and spectators. Regardless of this, he never managed to score high ranks but still his winning record brought to his name, a lot of glory.

A Leap Forward

Muhammad Ali (1960-1981): Possibly a living example of why boxing is called a lethal sport, Muhammad Ali has been revered all over the world as one of the greatest boxers ever. People from all walks of life would flock to the venues and this spectator sport was usually held at underground locations like the Lillie Bridge in London which was often subject to raids and arrests by the local police. The 90s paved way for many talented newcomers like Evander Holyfield, Lennox Lewis, Floyd Mayweather Jr. On the contrary, the one who lost was either killed in that combat or was retained as a slave for the rest of his life. It was officially ranked as the most difficult sport by ESPN in 2004. These rules came to be recognized as Broughton’s rules named after an English bare-knuckle champion Jack Broughton, who formalized them. Despite being an underrated sport today, boxing still finds a huge fan following amongst fierce and passionate boxing lovers. This was followed with the establishment of boxing commissions, legal sanctioning and governing bodies.

The Torch is Lit

After Jack Broughton’s era as a bare-knuckle champion, the interest of English aristocracy in boxing faced a decline. Suddenly, everybody wanted to do things that they thought were truly ‘English’. This was the period when the people of Europe looked keenly into their ancient sources of knowledge and wisdom and tried to incorporate them in their daily lives. This was when the term ‘boxing’ was coined.

The 18th century Revival

Roosevelt wanted all men of America to be strong and sturdy and regarded boxers to be “men as hard as nails”.

The ‘Marquess of Queensberry Rules’ then transitioned as the foundation of boxing governance into the USA and Canada. Corbett emerge as the victor. However, the sport itself fell into a state of obscurity after the downfall of the Roman Empire.

With the dawn of the 20th century, Germany emerged as an epicenter for boxing with a number of talented boxers to its credit. The rules, however, revolved around bare-knuckle boxing only and upheld Jack Broughton’s legacy for a little over a century. The combat took place between two such slaves and the one who won was released from the bonds of slavery. He, however, returned to the boxing ring in the 1970s.

Rocky Marciano (1948-1955): One of the hardest punchers of all times, Marciano remained undefeated in all the 49 matches which he played. He also has a record of winning 73 matches in a row. Some of these boxers included Henry Armstrong, Joe Louis, Max Schmeling, James. Sullivan (Boston Strong Boy) and James J.

Sugar Ray Robinson (1940-1965): One of the few sportsmen who have a commemorative stamp in their name, he is regarded as one of the greatest boxers to ever have set foot inside the ring.

18th century Europe saw the age of Enlightenment. England became the birthplace of what came to be known as ‘prizefighting’, wherein the two contestants fought on behalf of their patrons, sometimes even to settle their patrons’ personal grudges. In the following years, a lot of boxers stemmed from controversial pasts. His fights, particularly with Richard Humphreys fetched a lot of audience as both of them would block attacks, taunt each other (both during the match and in the newspaper bytes that they gave the night before the match) and wave their bodies in a unique way for the purpose of self-defense. But still, boxing was in a very rudimentary form, in that there were no defined rules and regulations about any aspect of the sport. Some of the basic rules that shaped conventional boxing since then, includedThe use of ‘mufflers’ or padded gloves, Prohibition to attack and grapple an opponent below the waist, and Disqualifying a player if he was unable to get up and fight back within a prescribed time limit of 30 seconds, after being knocked down by his opponent. Broughton is said to have formalized these rules after he injured an opponent in a prize-fight so severely that he eventually died. But, will there be another iconic era for boxing? Only time will tell!

What had commenced on dingy streets and shady taverns, evolved into a stage with cheering spectators and spotlights; Boxing had officially arrived!

Despite the establishment of the ‘Marquess of Queensberry Rules’ and the soaring popularity of the sport, boxing in the late 19th century came to be outlawed in U.K. Matches for boxing titles in accordance to divisions such as lightweight, heavyweight, etc. Boxing Championships were now, not only limited to the United States and England but was also hosted by many other countries like South Africa, Japan, Australia and Argentina. A professional British boxer, Amir Khan, shot to fame quickly with the WBO Intercontinental, Commonwealth and WBA International titles to his name. The competitors were divided into lightweight, middleweight and heavyweight in accordance to their physical characteristics which broadened the possibilities of participation. This was the first true revolution that happened in the field of boxing. These stalwarts in my opinion are men who have fought for guts and glory and forever left an indelible mark in the minds of fans. Braddock, Jack Dempsey, Jess Willard and Georges Carpentier amongst many others.

Journey Thenceforth.

Glamor to the Glitz

What started off as a competitive sport mainly played for betting, boxing has come a long way from what it used to be. Also, Theodore Roosevelt advocated boxing to a large extent. An immortal legacy has been shaped by various champion boxers, who came, reigned and left. It was one of those competitive sports wherein contestants either lived or died, or in some cases suffered irreparable injuries. One famous incident was the 1938 match between Max Schmeling and Joe Louis that resulted in Schmeling’s defeat after which he was compelled by Adolf Hitler to enroll in the German armed forces. This shows how ceremonially important the sport may have been in ancient Greece. The Greek epic Iliad, an 8th century B.C. Owing to this, boxing took one more leap forward. Chambers was also an honored member of the International Boxing Hall of Fame. J. More and more people wanted to learn the sport and be an active part of it.

Owing to his contribution to the sport, Jack Broughton is known as the ‘Father of English Boxing’.

In order to avoid such gruesome situations, in 1743, a set of rules were introduced for all boxing matches which were supposed to be played thenceforth. However, the following Anglo-French war for colonial dominance that took place during the 1780s, triggered a strong nationalist sentiment in the people of England in general. One such name that rose to prominence was a London-based pugilist called Daniel Mendoza. The ‘Marquess of Queensberry Rules’ were finally published in 1867. In 1892, in New Orleans, the title for the first heavyweight champion under the Queensberry Rules was spectacularly fought between John L. Boxing event organizers, promoters and managers generated a heavy amount of finance through their work.

Gladiator contestants wrapped their hands in leather straps embedded with metal shards, sharp enough, to injure their opponent.

An interesting take on boxing, as a mortal combat event, comes from ancient Rome where it was included in the gladiator contests, where the contestants fought until one of them died, or was severely injured. Gambling and betting on the fighters came to be a rage with huge stakes involved. Numerous boxing schools and academies sprang up all across England and, not surprisingly, most of them were soon overflowing with applications. But again, these contests were not based on any kind of rules and regulations. It became the sport of the masses, a sport in which men from every race, class and creed could participate. It did make minor appearances in the form of bare-knuckle fighting during the Renaissance age in 16th century Europe, but did not manage to gain enough popularity, as it was then practiced predominantly by the lower classes. These rules were eventually succeeded by ‘Marquess of Queensberry Rules’ that set the parameters for modern-day boxing. Despite all this, in the 21st century, the glory that boxing once achieved and enjoyed, seems to have diminished considerably with other more glamorous and supposedly elitist sports such as cricket and football coming to the forefront.

Establishments like World Boxing Association (WBA), World Boxing Council (WBC), International Boxing Federation (IBF) and the World Boxing Organization (WBO) began pitching competitions against each other.

The ‘Marquess of Queensberry Rules’ borrows the name from the 9th Marquess Of Queensberry, Sir John Sholto Douglas.

In 1838 came the introduction of the ‘London Prize Ring Rules’ which were to be revised later in 1853. A lot of money was involved in such fights, with the victorious individual winning hefty amounts. Sometimes, the fights became so intense and vehement that they resulted in the death of one of the fighters. The introduction of gloves changed the entire pulse of the game. The resurrection of boxing finally came about. A major part of this physical sport then involved fencing and cudgeling. But at the same time, he is also a classic case of how too much of publicity and adulation can be extremely bad for a person.

The first solid evidence of boxing has been recorded way back around 3000 B.C, and comes from Egypt and Mesopotamia.

Boxing is one of the oldest contact sports known to mankind. The butcher eventually won and was rewarded.

The wealthy English aristocrats began to patronize bare-knuckle fights among the boxers whom they chose.

Though many people thought that such kind of dance-like moves gave a crude tint to the otherwise white-collared gentleman’s sport, the sport did manage to get a considerable fan following of the young and the old alike.

Boxing, today, is a multimillion dollar sport that has inspired and garnered millions of passionate followers throughout the world. work by Homer, illustrates how boxing was a sport that was played in the form of ‘prize-fight’ during funerals. Later on, though, it was included in the Olympic games and thus became a full-fledged sport rather than making ceremonial appearances. commenced in the 70s which could be viewed live on color television sets. Yet, he steadfastly voiced his opinion about being against the whole idea of the Vietnam War and went on to inspire the likes of Martin Luther King Jr. Television had made its way in a majority of homes and international network providers featured live sport broadcasts. Boxers such as Sugar Ray Leonard, Thomas Hearns, Roberto Durn and Marvin Hagler continued to intrigue the spectators.

Willie Pep (1940-1966): This Italian-American boxer has a record of 229 victories out of the 241 matches that he played.

As a sport, boxing has given the world great men and excellent sportsmen. as the law was a little skeptical about the motive of this prizefighting sport that was usually held at shady venues. Boxing has also been controversy’s child through time. During World War II, a boxing ring became a major battlefield for champions hailing from different countries. This definitely makes him one of the greatest boxers of all times.

Men began looking at boxing as a way of defending themselves from hooligans who menaced all across the streets of London.

The popularity of boxing was thus increasing at a tremendous speed. But popularity always has a price to pay. Vijender Singh, a small town boy from India was also recognized by the International Boxing Association which announced him as the top ranked boxer in the annual middleweight category in 2009. and Oscar De La Hoya hailing from countries such as Britain and Canada, who carved a niche for themselves. The whole vibe and accord of times that saw these champions in action is ineffable and still vests in the hearts of many. Some sources also tell us that in ancient Rome, where slavery was deeply rooted, boxing matches were arranged for those slaves, who sought freedom. The upper class elites indulged in more noble forms of entertainment and regarded boxing as a savage sport.

Mike Tyson, in 1986, was reigning supreme at the peak of his career with the World Heavyweight Champion title to himself.

Boxing in the 1980s and 1990s featured some of the most magnificent matches, primarily financed by the corporates.

One such controversial boxing legend during the 1960s was Cassius Clay (Muhammad Ali), who embraced Islam and was charged with evasion of not serving the U.S. Moreover, every new kid on the block, brought with him his own style of fighting (staying within the framework of Broughton’s rules) which gained more and more fame for the sport. He brought with him, his unique style of boxing footwork and counter punches. Everyone was suddenly very curious to know about their roots and the origin of things. While he himself was trained in boxing as a young man, he also promoted it as a manly sport. However, the sport itself is mired with stories, controversies, contradictions and of course, personal enmities. However, a lot of prominent promoters were either involved with the Mafia, or were the Mafia themselves, and boxing transitioned into an intense and notorious backdrop. The attack and defense strategies, gradually began to change from their orthodox bare-knuckle counterparts.

So, in ancient times, boxing was in a very primitive stage.

The first officially recorded boxing match took place in England, where Christopher Monck, an English politician set up a contest between his butler and his butcher. Shortly after this era, in the 20th century, boxing, through its highs and lows came to be recognized as a prominent part of society and featured many influential promoters and legendary champions. In this quest of gaining knowledge from the sources of antiquity, the curious Europeans stumbled upon ancient references to boxing which triggered a renewed interest in the sport. Possibly, the very fact that it is a brutal combat sport, wherein participants take on each other, one on one, plays an important role in creating the hype that exists around modern boxing.

The Beginning

Did you know?A British periodical, London Protestant Mercury, featured the victory of James Figg in bare-knuckle championship in 1719 for the first time ever in the history of prizefighting. Army during the Vietnam War. Whoever wished, could take part, and anybody could fight anyone

Horse Racing Betting Strategies and Tips

For example, instead of paying $2 for an Exacta bet that requires the horses to finish in an exact first and second place order, you can pay $4 for an Exacta Box bet, and you will win the Exacta bet regardless of which of the two horses comes in first.

Exacta Bet A bet on the exact first and second place finishers in exact order.

Win, Place, and Show Bet (a.k.a. Across The Board Bet) Bets on the first, second, and third place finishers; each act as a separate bet..

The following is the correct way to place a bet with a betting clerk:

Win Bet A bet that the horse you chose will win the race.

Show Bet A bet that the horse you chose will come in third (a show bet is also a winning bet if the horse you chose comes in first or second).

Once you have taken the time to look over the racing program and the professionals advice, it is time to start figuring out which bets you would like to place for the upcoming race. Never bet more than you can afford to lose. The point is to have fun, not to go home without money you need to pay your bills. At this point, some people like to spend some time on the paddock to see the horses being walked from the stable to the track, as it adds to the horse racing experience and occasionally one might notice something about a horse that influences the way they bet, such as a horse that appears sluggish or one that seems like it is in exceptional shape.

Box Bet Any of the above bets can be boxed for an additional wager. To keep things fun and not risk too much money, most beginners make $2 bets. To place a $2 Win bet on horse number 7, you would say, <Track Name>, $2 to Win on Number 7.

Trifecta Bet A bet on the exact first, second, and third place finishers in exact order.

Daily Double Bet A bet on the first place finishers in two consecutive races.

Place Bet A bet that the horse you chose will come in second (a place bet is also a winning bet if the horse you chose comes in first).

To place a $2 Exacta Box bet on horse 2 and 5, you would say, <Track Name>, $2 Exacta Box on Numbers 2 and 5 (keep in mind that this is actually a $4 bet since you are boxing the bet).

The reason why you need to start out with the <Track Name> is because you can bet on horse races at many tracks from the horse track you are currently at, so you need to specify the track to the betting clerk.

While there are a variety of bets, the following are the most common bets, and are more than enough for beginners

Sports betting could give New Jersey’s horse industry a chance

“I have slowly phased out of breeding there is not enough incentive for a family-owned operation to sustain itself in the horse business. “Sports wagering will enable the New Jersey-bred program to compete with surrounding states.”

In 1993 there were 289 Thoroughbred race days in New Jersey providing full-time work for those in the industry. Sports wagering will bring much needed revenue for Monmouth Park and signals a new beginning for the Thoroughbred breeding program in New Jersey.”

Gerri and Lloyd Kromann of Edgemont Farm in Millstone who breed and race in New Jersey are excited about the prospects, “We hope that sports betting translates to more racing days and increased purses so we can continue to breed and race here.”

The track and the horsemen see the bill as a lifeline for the survival of horse racing within the state. However, New Jersey is not quite in the clear as of yet since sports leagues could try to prevent the state from offering sports betting due to the federal ban currently in place. New Jersey horseman have been lured to these states in order to keep their businesses going. On Friday, Oct. It plans to start on October 26.

Mike Campbell, executive director of the Thoroughbred Breeders’ Association of New Jersey is excited about what the legislation will do for the horse breeders and racing. And only 69 Thoroughbred mares were bred to New Jersey stallions in 2013 down from a high of 597 all due, in large part, to the decline in the number of racing days.

Financial independence for the horse racing industry is indeed key for its future. Only 122 Thoroughbred foals were registered in New Jersey in 2013. New Jersey is circumventing the ban by allowing sports betting through non-state-regulated private entities.

But not all Thoroughbred breeders are convinced that the statute will have an impact.

Following the Governor’s approval, Monmouth Park, the venue for Thoroughbred horse racing in Oceanport, NJ, was the first to announce it will begin taking sports bets. It is expected to breathe new life into a struggling industry that has been at the mercy of arbitrary state policies for decades.

A sigh of relief among New Jersey horsemen. The old breeding families have passed on and the children from these families just don’t see it as a way to make a living.”

A lot of livelihoods are resting on the success of sports betting in the state. Other states such as New York, Maryland and Pennsylvania have generous incentives for horse racing. These small numbers put pressure on trainers and owners who need daily help to care for horses year-round but must now rely on a tiny pool of races to pay the bills.

The equine industry may still have a future in the Garden State. That is a drop from a high point of 517 according to the Thoroughbred Breeders Association of New Jersey. “New Jersey-bred horses and the farms they are born on are an important part of the New Jersey economy,” said Mike Campbell. The fallout has been a precipitous decline in the number of foals born in the Garden State. Campbell commented, “S2460 paves the way for legalized sports wagering in New Jersey. By 2014 the number of race days dropped to just 71. 17 Governor Christie put ink to paper and signed legislation that will allow sports betting at casinos and racetracks in New Jersey.

Thoroughbred breeder Peter Roberts, owner of Rock Talk Farm in Monmouth County, is cautiously optimistic, “If the federal court embraces New Jersey’s new statute and clears the way for legal sports betting in the state, a natural outcome will be more horses, more farming, more agriculture and open space in New Jersey,” he said.

It is true that many Thoroughbred horsemen have either retired or have left the state for greener pastures. One breeder who feels it may already be too late to turn things around is Eileen Munyak of Hill Haven Farm in Millstone Township

Bill Tilden by Molly Hale

An AP poll named him the greatest player of the first half of the 20th century which is recognized by Professional Tennis Players from all around.. This begun a life of struggle for Tilden and he spent the majority of his life living with his Aunt.

Tildens tennis career did not start off so well either. He dropped out of college and began working on his tennis game, seeking to become a star.

Tilden began by practicing hitting against a backboard. In 1953 he passed away at age 60.

William Tatem Tilden II was born on February 10, 1893 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Singles Tennis Championships each year, a record that he still holds today and went on to win it seven times total in his career. The struggles of his life did not continue here however.

Tilden held the No. He was the first American ever to win at Wimbledon.

Tildens tennis career extended into his 40s even though he was a heavy smoker and paid little attention to health. When he was just 15 years old his mother passed away and a short 4 years later his father followed in passing away. Though his serve could force weak returns, he never played much at the net, but rather preferred to play in the back court.

Tildens career began to take flight. Things were not always wonderful for Big Bill from the beginning though. He was rumored to have hit a serve at 163 miles per hour. He also went to England to play in Wimbledon and won three times there out of 6 attempts. One can see that this was effective by the success that followed these efforts. 1 ranking in the world for tennis players for seven years and dominated the tennis scene in the 1920s. On this court he sought to perfect his backhand shot, which had been a weak point in his game. Over time he won a few Canadian Doubles titles and began to move up the rankings. He went through many heartaches, trials, and struggles on his path towards becoming one of the greatest athletes of the early 20th century.

Bill Tilden was born to a family that was plagued with the death of three of his older siblings. Despite these setbacks he was dedicated to becoming a tennis player. With the death of his parents and siblings he was alone. He was never a star tennis player in his prep school and wasnt a good enough player to make his team in college. This would be an incredible feat considering he was using a wooden racquet that lacks in power in comparison to the racquets used by players today. The New York Jets were 4-12 last season. Now, they have a new coach. It might be too much for the Jets to win both on the road with all the other tough games surrounding these dates.

To try and improve, the Jets went out and picked up some new players. In the offseason, they lose Kevin Mawae to Tennessee, Jason Fabini to Dallas, John Abraham to Atlanta (via a trade) and Oliver Celestin to Seattle. Here’s the breakdown of the 2006 season.

It’s conceivable that this Jets team will be 0-6 or 1-6 going into week 7 against the Lions. Any game that is viewed as potentially soft is followed up by one that’s probably not winnable for this team. I wouldn’t say that any one of their four wins were impressive performances. They really don’t get any breaks. They will most likely lose in weeks 2,4,5 and 6 for sure. Will anything change for the better or will this be another year they struggle, but this time under a “new” system?

Despite losing 12 games, the Jets didnt lose many players. Their four wins came against the Miami Dolphins, Tampa Bay Bucs, Oakland Raiders and Buffalo Bills. You would think that a team that only won 4 games would shed some more weight. Adding Ramsey will help when and if Chad Pennington gets hurt again, which seems to be very likely. Will these guys contribute enough to get the Jets winning again? The Jets picked up Anthony Clement, Brad Kassell, Andre Dyson, Tim Dwight, Trey Teague, Matt Chatham, Tim Dwight, Kimo von Oelhoffen and Patrick Ramsey. The schedule is fairly competitive and the Jets just aren’t that solid. Sure, some other players left, but those where the more mentionable players. . Week 1 against in Tennessee is no gimme and neither is week 3 in Buffalo. Could this season be any better for the disappointing New York Jets? What hope do Jets fans have? The Jets seem to be a team of players that just can’t get the job done

Sports :: So What is Betfair? Who runs it? Is it Safe?

You can now even get the exchanges own version of SP, and yet again this beats the bookies SP over the long term.. Now some folk think this is a gambling tax, and that the bookmakers charge 0%. That is not accurately true, you see the bookies get charged 10% tax by the government, and they claim that back by taking 10% off the odds!! They conceal it to fool you into thinking you are not paying tax! Betting exchanges tell you this expense upfront, and it is never more than 5%. 3) The Blue side is used when you BACK a horse, that is you want that selection to win. 2) You have 3 rows of blue, and 3 rows of pink next to each selection. Formed in June 200, the website was launched to allow customers to bet against each other rather than the traditional High Street bookmaker. So if you are using a bookmaker and losing say 10% of everything you bet over a year, if you had placed all those exact same bets with a betting exchange then you would probably have finished the year in profit! See how easy it is to see why you are throwing money away by not using them?

Many gamblers have heard of Betfair but in comparison with folks that use bookmakers, only a small minority use the betting exchange. This is also no different than people playing on the stock market buying and selling shares. This amount varies but starts at 5% for new signups, but you can get this down as low as 2%. The company has since expanded into Australia, and turns over more than 50 Million a week. Large sums when you consider this is all clients funds! They now also have gaming products such as poker and a casino, and take 100’s of bets a second. Betfair have some simple to follow rules on the website, but briefly you have the following: 1) All odds are in decimal by default, which does scare some individuals off, so just hover your mouse over the odds and you will see them come into view as they are in the bookmakers. In the Options you can change this so you just have one on either side if you are new. I will do a speedy article here to enlighten you of the basics, but the most notable message is that if you do wager on horse racing, or sports, and you get pleasure from throwing money away, then please continue not to exploit a betting exchange!

The exchanges are also a level playing field, unlike bookies who can put the odds in their favour as much as they wish. 4) The Pink side is used to LAY a horse, that is you want it to lose. Your account money is also ring fenced, meaning it is secured 100%.

Now you do have to pay a commission on each winning bet. Why is that? The foremost reason is they just do not realize the concept of it, and yet it is very simple. Easy as that! 7) If you just want SP bets, set this in the Options. 8) Any races you have a bet on you can watch the live video stream.

Now you know a conventional bookmaker offers you odds on an event, such as 6/4 the favourite in the 12:30 at Wolverhampton will win the race, or Liverpool FC will beat West Ham 1-0 at the odds of 5/4. Yes you can bet horses to lose here! 5) The minimum stake at Betfair is 2 6) To place a bet just click on the Blue/Pink odds, and enter your stake. Well Betfair, and other exchanges do exactly that, and if that is all you want to do that is all you actually need to know apart from the fact that the average odds over the long term are 20% higher than those you get in a regular bookmaker. Bookmakers do play a lot on the exchanges these days, but have to go with the market prices, and they also must pay commission, so a bookmaker with Millions, has to behave exactly the same way as Joe Public with his 10 wager.

So do you not think it is time to begin having some of that extra money for yourself, instead of others taking it?

So now for a short history of the company

Pit-bulls should be loved not feared

Ive read several articles that say pit bulls should be feared; poor dogs and much poorer human mentality. Dog fighting started thousands of years ago, yet until now, people still doesnt recognize the value of life, either human or animal life.

Clean them is another duty to attend to

Imagine the subdivision of man in a society; the elites who go to someelegant parties and lower class who fights with their might to be able to eat. With this kind of programs, animal cruelty can be prevented.. I pity these dogs as I pity those who think pit bulls are too dangerous animals. Wow! Now I believe breeders or us human are the ones frightening, arent we?

This kind of game is actually considered as another form of human crimes against animals. This repute wouldnt even exist if the breeders and owners will be kind enough to treat their dogs right. Some would even say that they didnt know pit bulls would be that cute and lovable. But this friend of mine has always been an animal lover (he even dreams of becoming a veterinarian) and had a pit bull way back then. Breeders of the fighting line believe that their dogs will be fiercer and violent if they wont be able to see light often and of course other people and other dogs. When I saw the dam (mother of the puppies) it was so thin that it makes me pity her. When he heard about pit bull puppies being sold, he asks me to buy one. Just like humans, these dogs also are receiving societal standards that are not even reasonable. My dearest friend is a dog breeder and me,always wanted to own a dog. She gave birth to 10 puppies, half of them not so healthy. Anyone who walks with them always feels safe because they wont let anyone hurt their friend/owner/breeder; theyre just loyal. I know they also have feelings like us, they know how to care and love; they return the favor. Any dog that is considered champion and can still fight wins the prize of his life, the other dog who can no longer fight suffer the consequence of dying. But anyhow, I bet majority of the people thinks theyre frightening.

I am a dog lover

Dog fight a form of gambling

This pit bull line is the ones feared while actually they should be the one getting tender loving care just because they dont experience one. Just like what the pictures says, bad dogs are not born, they are raised by their owners; treat your dogs or pets good and theyll return the favor while they are living.

Pit bull is actually a term used to describe different dog breeds that crosses the American pit bull terrier, Staffordshire terrier, American Staffordshire, and yes, American bulldogs. Cockfighting is a common gambling sport in the Philippines; also known as sabong. Just like what I’ve said a while back, pit bull isn’t really a breed that describes a certain race of dog, but in a broader world, they are divided into two. In reality, these dogs are sweet! Theyre too playful and will even kiss your face when theyre happy. They are the ones who get to be pampered and all. Dogs that are severely injured dont even get the right to go to a veterinarian because the breeders are afraid of getting caught and ending up in jail.

Fighting line pit bulls

Feed them is what I do

This is a poem I made that I have posted on one of my blogs. But nonetheless, the principle of these two games is just the same; the gamblers enjoy watching two animals brutally killing each other to save their own lives. When breeding, I believe it is and will always be the responsibility of the breeder to keep the puppies safe by getting them at their first vaccine and deworming to make them healthy and boost their energy; and thats what the owner didnt do.

Pit bull

And they shall walk a lifetime with you

Walk with them a day or two

Its sad how these dogs get to be treated just like that. We went to the breeder and check the puppies. In some parts of America, the American bulldogs are also considered pit bulls. Show type pit bull

Dog fighting is another gambling sport involving animals. However, our duties with the puppies dont stop there; we decided to pay a visit the remaining puppies. They build reputation through dog shows by showing their talents and skills or by merely stocking (posing in the show).

The notion that pit bulls are fierce and vicious made a bad reputation for these dogs. They kill their own race to save their own lives. I can say this because I felt it with them. You may be wondering why bulldogs came across this. They were raised in a dark vast place, a cage enough to contain their body. Before any fight starts, all the gamblers place their bets on different sides, whichever they feel like betting in. We decided to take the two but waited for some more days for them to stay with their mother. Just like cock-fight, a dog fight is also considered as blood sport where two animals are put inside an arena and fight until the other one dies. I suddenly thought about my dog, he is named after the brave chameleon Durango, later on Rango. The show type pit bulls are the ones considered behave and lovable, breeders to breeder talk. But as we visit the puppies whenever we have a free time, we noticed that the owner doesnt really know what hes doing, and then later on admitted that its his first time to breed. The puppies even get thinner and looked malnourished so we decided not to wait for some more days; we offered to just get the puppies and have them injected to prevent viral infections. We took the two puppies and brought them directly in a pet clinic. They were so cute that everyone gets to love these cute little puppies. So when it comes to the fight itself, their goal is to attack and kill the enemy, which is another dog thats trained in the dark. They adopt and let other pet lovers also adopt animals that they like. Well this division is just made solely by the breeders that will separate the dogs from two areas according to how they were raised.

In some countries that I personally know like the Philippines, organizations like PAWS (Philippine Animal Welfare Society) rescues animals. The truth isI prefer toy dogs over guard and big dogs. Animals, like people do have rights too but I dont think its comprehensible with those kinds of people who plays with these animals lives. To our surprise, only three were left, the others die
